Sustainability in Manufacturing - A delicate balancing act

SPETA and our members visited Onn Wah Precision Machining Pte Ltd on 28 Sept. As part of our efforts to shed more light on sustainability and its impact on Singapore manufacturing companies, the learning journey to Onn Wah provided much useful insights on what a SME can do.

SPETA celebrated the successful completion of the Inaugural Manufacturing Employer Handbook Learning Circles today with 22 company participants.

SPETA and the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) signed a MOU today to further cement our long lasting partnership.

“Learning Circle, Growing Together”Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association (SPETA) and Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) piloted the Manufacturing Employer Handbook Learning Circles – a series of workshops that combines Learning Circles and hands-on exercises to offer participants a practical understanding of key HR strategies.

Held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 4 to 7 July, MTA VIETNAM was an exceptional trade fair that showcased the latest advancements in the precision engineering field and also highlighted the opportunities within a growing and exciting market.

During a visit to SIMTech Innovation Factory on 26 Jun 2023, participants were provided with a valuable opportunity to explore and understand the diverse innovation facilities and capabilities available. The event also featured IPI sharing on their purpose and services available to companies undertaking innovation.

On 14 Jun 2023, Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosted SPETA and some of our members for an engaging and intensive discussion to understand the challenges and opportunities faced by local manufacturing companies.

Held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, METALTECH 2023 illustrated the latest advancements in the metalworking, machinery, and manufacturing industries.

From 31 May – 3 Jun, the Singapore Pavilion hosted by SPETA featured 14 prominent companies from Singapore who showcased their cutting-edge technologies, machinery, and solutions, highlighting Singapore’s expertise in precision engineering and manufacturing.

25th May 2023 – SPETA partnered STONEFOREST to organise an in-person seminar on “Cybersecurity and Data Protection”.

Delivered by Mr. Hoi Wai Khin, Partner & Deputy Industry Lead, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice, RSM, the highly engaging and interactive session highlighted prominent cybersecurity risks that businesses face in today’s connected world, and also shared useful tips to navigate these risks.
