SPETA 44th Annual General Meeting — 29 April 2026

Sharpening the edge…

SPETA successfully held our 44th Annual General Meeting on 29 April 2026, bringing together members to reflect on past year’s achievements and refine our aspirations for the year ahead.

2025 has been a year of cautious optimism. Many businesses had to rethink cost structures, re-examine competitiveness, and sharpen strategies for sustainable growth.

Against this backdrop, SPETA remained focused on three key priorities:
• Strengthening global connectivity
• Building enterprise workforce and leadership capabilities
• Deepening industry partnerships

These efforts spanned key sectors including semiconductors, medtech, photonics and the broader PE ecosystem. It was a journey made possible through the efforts of many.

Together with members and ecosystem partners comprising industry leaders, like-minded associations and government agencies, we facilitated SG companies’ participation in international tradeshows, supported professional development across enterprises, and organised industry engagements to uncover new business opportunities.

To get more clarity of what is ahead, we kick-started the AGM with an insightful and detailed sharing by Chen-yuan Tung (Taipei Representative Office in the Republic of Singapore) on the global semiconductor landscape and realignment.

Another highlight of the AGM was our Recognition Segment, where we appreciate individuals who have contributed significantly to SPETA's journey, with over a decade of service.

The following individuals were recognised for their years of contribution:
•  Dr Ricky Souw
•  Mr Steven Sim
•  Mr Philip Kia Er Chew
•  Mr Chia Harris
•  Mr Ming Wah Low
•  Mr Keng Yew Lam
•  Mr Peter Tan
•  Mr Jeremy Fong
•  Mr Esmond Lim
•  Mr Steven Toy
•  Ms Elise Hong
•  Ms Louisa Lee
•  Ms Katherine Chen
•  Ms Ang Wei Ling

We also welcomed Mr Michael Chan (Yamazaki Mazak) to the SPETA Council, as a Co-opted Member.

In his closing remarks, Chairman Steven Toy reaffirmed SPETA's commitment to supporting members through uncertainty. SPETA will continue working closely with government agencies and industry partners, while enabling transformation across technology, talent, and market access.

The best is yet to come…
