Outreach – Recognising the Challenges, and need for Productivity Improvement, with sharing of government assistance schemes

SPETA held a physical outreach, in collaboration with SCCCI – SME Centre on 3rd Nov 2022.

At the session, SPETA highlighted recent published business outlook by MAS and EDB, which painted a cautious mood where Singapore’s growth is likely to be slowed down by dynamic global factors and external facing sectors such as manufacturing, trade and finance.

That said, many Singapore companies continue to build new capabilities, seek out new opportunities and partnerships.

Their enterprising spirt was reflected in recent events such as SPETA’s and members’ involvement in ITAP 2022, and the business mission to Mexico lead by SPETA and EnterpriseSG.

Mr. Beny Ke, Senior Business Advisor, SME Centre @ Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry shared broadly on the topic of Productivity as an important business consideration, and how businesses can take steps to define and measure productivity.

His sharing also covered different government support available to give companies looking to sharpen their competitiveness and build differentiated capabilities a boost.

Mr. Ke also shared with the participants what are the relevant and key business outcomes that should be clearly articulated in their project proposal for government funding, so as to illustrate the projected impact of the project.

So far, the feedback of the session from participants have been very encouraging and positive.

We thank members for their attendance and active participation during the Q&A session.

SPETA will continue to curate similar engagements with industry partners to provide more insights on business issues such as manpower, sustainability, innovation and internationalisation.
