SPETA held a physical outreach, co-hosted with SESTO Robotics, at Singapore Polytechnic, Advanced Manufacturing Centre on 17 June 2022. This was a fruitful session of interesting presentations and a technology showcase of SESTO’s Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR), with more than 25 participants, mainly Directors or Operation Managers from the Precision Engineering sector.
Mr Koh Wei Peng from SESTO Robotics shared how their AMR technology help manufacturers worldwide deliver mission critical results through high uptime, scalability and ease of operation. It had undertaken co-development of such technologies with Singapore Polytechnic. The resulting products are now available for commercial deployment, and supportable under the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) from Enterprise Singapore.
The audience got to hear from fellow SPETA member, Tranzplus Engineering, on how SESTO Robotics technology helped to alleviate their factory manpower issues while increasing workers’ productivity during the pandemic.
Singapore Polytechnic also shared on their role in payload development and automation consultancy for SME’s automation efforts before we concluded with a live demonstration of the AMR and a tour of the Advanced Manufacturing Centre.
This event was indeed an excellent illustration of private sector and public institution partnership to support SMEs in their digital transformation journey. SPETA will actively facilitate such collaborations and welcome members to contact us with their needs, ideas and questions on how they can further benefit from such initiatives.
