Precision Engineering (PE) serves an important role of underpinning various industries as diverse as Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Medical Technology and Electronics. The PE industry supplies critical products and expertise needed to manufacture complex components and equipment used in these industries. In Singapore, the PE industry employs approximately 91,000 workers in the manufacturing sector and contributed approx. $41 billion in total output in 2020. As Industry 4.0 continue to transform the manufacturing and the PE industry, we will need to accelerate the deepening our capabilities in advanced manufacturing tapping on digital technologies, robotics, additive manufacturing, advanced materials, sensors, lasers and optics.
